A Letter for all Women and Girls

This is a letter for all daughters to read to get a glimpse of how their mothers may have felt about them when they were teenagers or now that they are teenagers. This letter may also uncover how we wished our mothers had communicated to us when we were becoming women and making our way in the world. This letter offers us an opportunity to feel and heal any sadness we may have hiding away in relation to our mothers and our relationship. Where there is a line just insert your name, reading this letter as if your mother wrote it just for you.

To my lovely sweet            ,

I felt to write this letter so you know how I truly feel in my heart and what I see before me when I SEE YOU.

I see an amazing young woman so sweet, strong and powerfull. Shining before me with so much Love and Glory, you are the apple of my eye and just seeing you makes my day shine, I smile from the inside out.

You are a constant inspiration to myself and all those around you, simply by being you and nothing else.

My Love for you is true and unshakable. Nothing you choose to do can change who you are in your full beauty, which is the woman I will always see and hold deep in my heart.

I knew when I gave birth to you that I had been blessed from the heavens. Your stunning glory and light was there to be seen by all, as it always will be.

Sometimes I choose to see what you do before I feel who you are, this is when I am the one that greatly misses out as I do not see your true loveliness, rather I see you as your behaviour. How you choose to behave does not change, touch or taint the beauty you carry within.

You are the very definition of Joy and if you choose to live knowing this, you will feel your Joy reflected back to you through all that cross your path, you are a gift to all you meet.

As you grow and unfold into the beautiful amazing woman you are, I could not be more inspired or proud of the depth and beauty you carry within.

As you are now a woman it is time for you to fully claim the sacred beauty you carry within; it is a magical, cheeky, play-full, loving, sexy beauty carried by all women. It is like a cup that can never have too much put in, so enjoy yourself as you journey through your life, always filling your cup, until it overflows with all the glory that is you.

At times you may feel your feet get a little wet when you walk through a puddle upon your way through life. Do not focus on your wet feet, be aware of the puddle and why you walked through it, but do not let it be the focus.

I will always be your mum, but it is time for me to step aside and let you fully make and embrace all your own choices and just be there if you ever feel the need for support.

Enjoy exploring life and all it has to offer. Life is an offering, an offering of inspiration from all those around you.

So get out there girl, oops woman… and share all of who you are.

Never apologize to anyone if your light is too bright, just keep on shining so you can share with them the gorgeousness of all you are and they will get the gift of knowing that this light is also within them.

I love you            and I Love you eternally.

Lots of love always,

Mum

  1. Wow, this has actually brought tears to my eyes. Don’t we all wish to have received a letter like this at some point in our lives, a letter from the person who has seen us from the start, somebody who knows us divinely so and knows it well. It is a pity that the majority of us are so corrupted that by the time we grow up to have teenage daughters, we have hardened and toughened to a point where words like these almost feel like they’re unattainable.

  2. This is the stuff our children should grow up with – a deep understanding that those around them care.
Unfortunate and sad we have much media material out there that only serves to denigrate the women further.

  3. When we emotionally love and do smother mothering we stagnate and stunt our daughters, let them to be the amazing women they are and confirm them in that then we have the true role models of the future.

  4. It is incredibly empowering as a mother when we observe and allow our daughters to make their own decisions in life from day one. It teaches them that life is about evolution and not about comfort and security.

  5. “keep on shining so you can share with them the gorgeousness of all you are and they will get the gift of knowing that this light is also within them.” This is a message of love for all of us at any age.

  6. Re-reading this gives such a beautiful stop moment to acknowledge our own amazingness and it doesn’t matter how old we are it is never too late to embrace this.

  7. Thank you I shall be aware today to express my appreciation with and for my work colleagues and customers. This could catch on which is one of the reasons why it is important that it comes from the heart, is a true expression, and not just a tick box exercise.

  8. This letter is written to and calls out the precious part of ourselves that we often deny so we can soldier on through life. This needs to be our everyday way of being, to restore and nurture the beautiful women within.

  9. There is a precious space that can be felt in your sharing Toni. Very inspiring to read how we as women can be with each other. The level of acceptance of the choices we make, the loving understanding, the holding of seeing friends, daugthers, mothers actually everyone as the sacred women we are can be world changing for all. Thank you

    1. Being seen for who we truly are is so healing and much needed in our current society where we get caught up in jealousy and comparison and judging ourselves and others rather than celebrating the awesome women we are.

  10. ‘I see an amazing young woman so sweet, strong and powerfull. Shining before me with so much Love and Glory, you are the apple of my eye and just seeing you makes my day shine, I smile from the inside out.’ What every woman needs to hear and feel, so she embraces her sacredness as her foundation to live from.

  11. ‘At times you may feel your feet get a little wet when you walk through a puddle upon your way through life. Do not focus on your wet feet, be aware of the puddle and why you walked through it, but do not let it be the focus.’ What an awesome support to just be all that I am, learning through life, experimenting, knowing that it is about developing more awareness and love.

  12. Gorgeous , Toni – this is profound. We need to bring this back in our education, this way of talking with eachother and about eachother : women generally, men with each other and parents with their children. It is gorgeous to see that there is love possible in its true purpose and potential – when we choose to see the brigher part of us.
And hence, this below sentence is so so well placed, knowing that we need a more whole view to live our life from that even when things go little out of place or differently than expected – we have ourselves, our love, to fall back to.
Sharing the sentence here: ” at times you may feel your feet get a little wet when you walk through a puddle upon your way through life. Do not focus on your wet feet, be aware of the puddle and why you walked through it, but do not let it be the focus.”
We are of great support when we connect to who we truly are. Lets make it the most of our time.

    1. “We need to bring this back in our education, this way of talking with eachother and about eachother” I agree, what we need is more talking to each other seeing the full potential of who we are, the light, divinity and sacredness. Instead of talking about each other being a good speller, good in maths and so on, because that is what we do and we can feel elated when people comment on this but never as lifted up, touched in our heart and truly seen when people see you and appreciate you for who you are.
